I got a little story: his master was a cop, and one day they ran into a burning building and save several people, ( the dog guided a half blinded child out), but the rubble fell on his master, mortally wounding him. At the hospital, the officer's wife is holding him while he passes away, so he is present. He follows the funeral procession to the gravesite, and refuses to leave when the service is over. He stays faithfully for several years, being fed by the townsfolk and becoming an inspirational symbol of faith and unity. Then one dark night, in the graveyard, he hears a dark ritual: a gang of devil worshipers are planning to desecrate the graveyard and commit a human sacrifice. Bravely, and without hesitation, the dog leaps to the rescue and bites the dark leader in the balls. An almost slapstick chase occurs as they try to catch him, stumbling over one another, and in the confusion the intended victim manages to break free and run away. Enraged, the limping leader managed to cold clock the dog, and decides to make him a replacement sacrifice. At that moment, a Blue Lantern ring zipps buy, hitting the Satanist in the head like a rock from a slingshot, knocking him out. It declares the dog having the ability to instill great hope, then finding no fingers or a tail, resizes itself to fit as a collar. Now able to fly, the dog tares them a collective new one, and as authorities arrive thanks to the girl, they are already subdued, and the dogs renown as a hero spreads wide, and his installation of hope increased exponentialy.
