Very great work! I love the black-and-white and a dash of color mixed together. This is sure to please MLP fans and people who are indifferent but have never bothered to watch the show or look at the art. Very nice use of brushstrokes and shading! The general, overall 'feeling' of the piece is really touching. I look forward to seeing more art from you, especially in this style! The brushstrokes are prominent and yet they blend together in the shading. I sit here and stare at this artwork and I wonder what Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo are thinking. Very deep in thought, yet really epic with the color reflecting glasses! Overall, this work is exceptional. I love it and look forward to seeing more from you.
This is amazing on multiple levels. For starters, we first look at RD and see her wearing glasses, which is already a popular and familiar image. What REALLY strikes you about this is the addition of Scootaloo, RD's "little sister", who is very seriously emulating RD. The textures are soft and the graytone allows us to appreciate identifying the ponies WITHOUT their signature color schemes, showing off how well you are affiliated with their character designs. By coloring only the reflection of what they're looking at on their lenses, we understand where they are without disrupting the gray tones in the background. Finally, that backlight gives them an adorably badass look.
