Well, that's it for the countdown, and I know this one's a bit spoiler-ish, but then again it is something already seen on some of the commercials I've seen on the Hub.

Ooh, really atmospheric depiction of this scene!

I feel a little sad for Sombra with all the criticizing remarks he gets. He was like a combination of the devils relentless evil and power and the inteligent cunning evil of Bane.
Like the devil those that have seen him or witness his might tremble in fear of the possibility of his return. He doesn't stop even when an impenetrable Sheild keeps him from his goal. He wasn't some giant terrifying creature like a changeling or a Draconique, he was a simple Unicorn and he brought pain and suffering on the empire single handedly, and by extension all of equestria

Even when sealed away his power still lingers in the form of sinister and clever traps and obstacles. He doesn't need to talk to prove his power. It should be self evident, he is the ultimate evil and if he ever came back and set his sights on the rest of equestria there would be something akin to Armageddon.

The fact that Shing armor tried to take him on by himself he should be lucky he only got away with a little curse.

Can I just say that this is badass? If only Sombra had turned out this awesome...

That was a great scene. Shining Armor certainly lived up to his name there, and you have done a stunning job of capturing it all.

I disagree with the person bashing King Sombra. In my opinion, he was well executed. He didn't need dialogue to be terrifying. His shadowy form and his bestial growling did all that for him. This guy's more like Sauron from the Lord of the Rings books, as opposed to the movie. Like Sauron, he's an omnipresent horror and nigh unstoppable force. He didn't need to be in the city to do the damage he did, and his traps were very clever. I'll admit, I was a tad disappointed at first, but after some thought I figured him out. He's no Discord but a poor villain he is not.

This guy is arguably THE most poorly used character ever, and in a show like MLP:FIM that may not mean much but for me it does. Here I was thinking up all sorts of possible awesome roles for him , leader of an army of crystal golems set to raise Equestria to the ground, a possible relationship with one of the princesses most likely Luna , father of Skyla or corrupter of the elements. I watched this episode only for him, I ignored the songs and childish things and waited for my piece of Sombra, and I get 2 minutes screen time and 15 spoken words. You people say he is like Sauron, I remember Sauron as a towering mountain of death dealing awesomeness not as an eye that floats above a tower and whispers stuff in your ear, he was good at that but never trully awesome ( I have never read the books, just watched the movies). Discord is still the character with the most developed personality, and that's saying much. Sombra was a painful dissapointment, but maybe I had too high expectations, maybe that's why A Canterlot Wedding surprised me, I wasn't expecting and epic clash but an entire episode filled with gut wrenching songs and dances. The only thing good about this guy was his voice and his return. Yes, return. When he is so disgustingly and anti-climatically blown to bits we can see his horn, the only thing left of him, flying away. And only the tip was needed to break down the shield, imagine what the whole thing would do. You can say as many thing as you want about my views, you may call me an egotistical, malevolant, cheeky, up-stuck SOB. You may call me the Killer of Santa and the Ravager of the Easter Bunny, I don't care. I need my spicy badassness to balance the sugar coated girly stuff or I'm gonna die of mental breakdown diabetes.

I can't say I hate him, hell he's my favorite character. But I do hate the creators. Many people have said he doesn't need to talk to be scary, well that's only partially true. As an example look at anime villains. They rarely talk, but when they do they flip the protagonists world all over. The King could have done that, but alas we all saw what he got.

I think these episodes wern't about him, not really. The creators knew he wasn't fleshed out like the others, maybe on purpose. The main battle in this episode isn't good vs evil, its man vs self with Twilight facing herself with self-doubt and revelation with Sombra as the incentive to make it a race against time. The villain wasn't really important in this episode but they included enough of a backstory and design to make him work as the villain and as a possible (if not definite) returning villain.
Don't get me wrong I would have wanted to see more of him but these episodes were more about Twilight's revelation and setting up to her future lessons with Celestia in season 3, not Sombra's invasion. If we are to see him again they must make him a fleshed out villain.
